..for me was picking up my camera again.

I'm not sure why. Was it because I shot so much high? Was it because I marketed my prints when I was invincible because some pills told me I was?

I looked at it for weeks. I thought I can't do it straight. Plus my hands shake so bad how can I?

I made myself do it. Turns out I've been doing it so long it's second nature now. No problem at all. And the interesting thing is that while I'm shooting my hands are steady. I took one shot at 1/30 and no blur and clear focus.

I'm using it to chronicle my recovery. I'm publishing the photos on Pbase in my Photo a Day gallery. Lots of people see them there. I've received a couple emails, encouraging me to hang on and to continue the series.

And last night I had my first "real" meal. I grilled a couple steaks, baked potato, fresh corn, mushrooms and butter and a roll. I was so stuffed I thought I'd burst but did it taste good. :)

Great. I would love to see your photos.

I know what you mean about things you used to do high and then trying those things again straight. I project that high feeling onto things and now sacred to go near them since I don't use any more (90 days hydro free). I still expect that buzz but it just doesn't come.
I know I surprise myself at how well I am doing them straight. Except drive. I still feel I do it better loaded. Since I am clean, I don't know how many times I have had accidents, albeit minor ones.
Good luck with the photos.

Brenda!! That's so wonderful! Being able to return to something you love--your camera--is just the BEST sign of recovery. (Not to mention EATING--which has always been one of MY signals that I was on the mend!) LOL! Steak, eh? Hmmm.....could ya throw another one on the grill...very rare?!....... :-) Lynn

Rebecca - I meant to tell you. I would very much like to hear that story you mentioned you'd be willing to share, regarding the second and third time you had to deal with breaking the law, re. drugs from the pharmacy. One time, when I was picking up my cousin's legit Rx for oxycontin, the Sunday woman, who I'd never met before, was on duty (this is a major chain.) She made me feel like a criminal--and I hadn't done anything wrong. I was simply doing what I do every month...picking up my cousin's Rx, because she has trouble walking! (Next morning, when I went in and talked to the regular pharmacist, there were TWO other people waiting to complain about her. One man couldn't get his wife's asthma drug...and she couldn't breathe--I think they went to the hospital.)

Anyway...I shouldn't have just changed the topic of Brenda's wonderful post. So...perhaps you could answer this on the original thread...or start a new one. Thanks! :-) Lynn
