I have lower back discomfort, but it is not all the time, I have two gastoric ulcers and gas problems, so do you think that is gas or kidney problems and my BUN level is good and my urine came back good, would you advise me to do anything else

Why not have an ecography of your kidney? This way the doctor will be able to tell you if you have stones nesting there..I really wish you it's not like this! :)

Or just a kidney/bladder/ureter x-ray. That would also show if there are stones, and it's cheaper! :)
Have you ever had problems with pancreatitis?

I didn't mention xrays because my doctor told me that when there is a lot of gas it's difficult to see something in your kidneys.
On my experience, ecography is the best way to make sure. Good thing here in Italy is about the same price of an xray!

Interesting! You're right, if you have a lot of gas in your bowels, it can be hard to see the urinary system, but that's why they do a special set of films called the KUB...kidney, ureter, bladder which are done somewhat differently in terms of patient placement and magnification which can help to offset the effect of bowel gas on the picture.
