Hello everybody... my question is, exactly how contagious is hpv? Can you pass it to your partner if a condom or even a female condom is used? Since I have the hpv, if I give my partner oral sex, can he get it? Or if my partner gives me oral sex, and I have hpv, can he get it as well? Any tips would really be great.
I heard from someone that as long as it doesnt get inside the males uretha, then its fine, that they cant get the hpv, since hpv is only in the skin cells. could this be true? Thank you for taking the time to read this.

HPV is spread through skin-to-skin contact, so condoms will not protect you & condom manufacturers are re-designing their labels to reflect that. 80% of the sexually active population is infected and don't even know it! There are about 100 different strains out there, "categorized" into 2 categories: high & low risk.
High risk strains are not associated with actual warts, but will cause you to have cervical cellular abnormalities, if left untreated, will progress to cervical cancer. The low risk strains are not associated with any cellular abnormalities, but will cause you to have actual warts. The disease does not live in the blood, therefore, a blood test will not confirm infection. If a man is infected with a high risk strain, there is no way to make a diagnosis and that's what makes this disease so dangerous, because a man will never know he's infected with a high risk strain (unless, the girlfriend/wife comes forward). If a man is diagnosed with a low risk strain, diagnosis can be made upon examination of the wart/s. If a woman is infected with a low risk strain, daignosis can be made upon examination of the wart/s. If a woman is infected with a high risk strain, diagnosis can be made through a pap and then through what is called The HPV DNA Digene test, which is performed on a culture that was taken from the cervix. It's performed in order to determine which strain/s she may be infected with.
Unlike herpes, you cannot "reinfect" yourself with the same strain. Once you have that strain, that's it. Now, it's totally possible to "reinfect" yourself with another strain, but that usually happens when there are multiple partners. It is very possible to be infected with a high risk and low risk strain, so that you have both abnormal cellular activity AND genital warts. You can check webmd if you need anymore info.

[If you gave your partner oral sex, he would not get HPV. Your HPV is on/in your genitals, not in your mouth.
If he gave you oral sex, there is a possibility of him getting HPV in his throat, but that would be unusual.
Men can get HPV because they have skin :) And they have skin on their genitals, which is how they acquire the infection. So if his penis or other parts of his genital region come in contact with whichever of your parts has the virus, he can become infected.

I am not aware of the odds of transmission, but the more contact there is over time, the greater the odds of transmission. An STD is not something one should play the odds game with.

Condoms only protect what they cover. For female to male contact, the oddds of transmission would be greater if you have it on the outer lips of your vagina where he scrotal skin might make contact, but even if you have it deep inside, vaginal secretions can bring it outside and, again, make contact with the scrotal skin, or even with his penis where a condom does not fully cover. Same general principle applies with the female condom.

With the assumption you have it vaginally, then you would not pass it to him. He might catch it from you orally by giving you oral sex, but oral HPV is less common.
