View Full Version : Ugh! (warts)

I got a wart on my foot, probably from my husband as he had one before me (if they're communicable). It's on the back of the heel, so I'm embarrassed to wear open backed shoes now.

I've tried the Compound W and those band-aid thingys but it just comes back. Are there any other things I can try, whether over the counter or herbal/vitamin type?
Thanks!

You can get the salcytic acid pads at the drugstore. They stick and you just leave them on until the skin turns white and dies. They shouldn't come back if you get to the center of it.

Also, from my brother's podiatrist, a wet aspirin and a band aid applied to the wort will do the same thing at a much cheaper cost!

Good luck!

Hello,

Look on the skin, hair, and nails section of this website. There was a cool banana peel remedy that everyone is swearing by! I guess it was in an Anne Landers column. If not, I think you can do a google search and type in "banana peel wart remedy" and you should find it.

If you can't find it, just write back here and I'll find it for you.

Good luck!

You may think this is crazy, but I come from the Ozark Mountains where hill people do home medicine. Get a leaf from a peach tree. Have a female relative of yours rub the shiny part of the leaf on the wart three times and tell it to go away. You then take the leaf and bury it 3 inches deep in the ground. The wart will disappear in a week.

haha clementine--when we were little, my mom would use a pencil eraser and rub it on our warts while telling them to go away. it worked for real!

i recently had three or four warts on my hands taken off my my dermatologist. he just sprayed liquid nitrogen on them and they turned white and fell off about a week or two later. same kind of thing as the salicylic acid strips--just worked quicker for me. hope you get it off! warts are SO annoying!

Julianne,
That's interesting, it really worked? Hmm. Did she just do it once or continually?

I know this sounds weird and I don't know what possessed me to start this, but I've been spraying Suave hairspray on it and that really helps to dry it out and it's gradually getting smaller. I'm just using that until I can decide to go to a doc.

Have you been reading in the news about duct tape taking warts off? You just put some duct tape on, and leave it on for a few day, then wash the wart and scrape the dead part off and put on more duct tape until it's gone. This was in medical news!!

I heard about the duct tape idea recently too, they say that it is even more effective than liquid nitrogen, and cheaper than a doctors appointment!
