That's a doctor question but I think that by slowing the system down with clonidine it doesn't make you crave so much. Heck, I dunno....but it does help...that's the important part.

It doesn't help with withdrawals - it just keeps your BP from skyrocketing.

It does not help with w/d. When you stop taking meds, your blood pressure goes way up, the Clonidine prevents your blood presure from doing this- it will make you a little tired as well. Make sure you do this under a doctors care. If you, you can cause your body to have a seizure.

But....it does help "knock you back a bit". Slowing things down provides a little extra help....not much but some.

thanks for the info i did not know your pressure goes up when off the meds. gotta say it did help me alot.

When your blood pressure is high, you can feel more anxiety as well.
