Your past posts seem like U really know bloodwk. I'm at a loss after long
googles! 2 yrs, 4 labs done & all have hi LDL, + out of range Bun/Creatine &
especially `Anion Gap'. Dr.s say my dx of Fibromyalgia & muscle pain are doing this since I don't excercise much. I eat healthy & move what I can but
feel ill all the time. I know abt tests except for Anion Gap. Wonder if that is
being over looked & a signal of something. Compared tests to friends & no
one ever had Anion Gap out of range. Really don't have those triggers they
say I should have but fatique is being blamed on cholesterol. I'm not over-wt.
either. Ofc. keeps saying AG is not important. Why am I the only 1 w/ this?
Appreciate any input.

Murphy,
Anion Gap is usually an excess of anions over cations (chemistry jargon)...too much sodium/potassium over chloride/bicarbonate. A high anion gap implies ACIDITY and the usual cause is DIABETES.
Do you have any problem with your sugar (glucose) numbers or do you have active diabetes?

Zip: Thanks for reply. We need more knowledgables like U because MD's aren't chemists or too rushed. The jargon makes sense but not my condition. Glucose & my
potassium R fine on all 2yrs of bloodwk. 4 panals during that time `all fasting', normal.
No diabetes in family. Weight is normal for height. AG is high? Since I'm feeling lousy
all the time, wondered if this was something to explore. Thought genetics may be a
player but I'm only one w/ this. Really appreciate you taking the time. Don't eat sweets
& very little carbs so do I need more or less bananas? Would like to swing from a tree!

Thanks guys for replies. Still wondering why it's high w/ no match to anything. Think I
read the equation in comparison to glucose, anasthesia, potassium a long time ago &
that's why I posted the ? Dr. says don't worry abt it w/ a look like they don't know
either. 1 site suggested if elevated w/ an elevated `organ function', could mean lack
of function. Since Bun/Creatine is high, is that the over-looked flag? Maybe they'll find
answer at my autopsy & mark `died of natural causes'! Yuk! Appreiciated your help.
