Have any of you noticed that your child regresses before they progress? I was so worried about my son about a week ago, he was exhibiting horrible behaviours that I have never seen in him before, slapping his head, spinning constantly and looking at things sideways. All of a sudden, he is saying two syllable words and being a completly different child. He was getting his 2 year molars, I wouldnt think that would make that much difference other than crankiness. Anyway, I am thankful that it was a passing phase and wondering if any of you had the same thing happen to your child. :)

Hurray for the two syllable words! This is very exciting.
My son always seems to regress when he is not feeling well. Those molars really hurt!

My son always becomes extremely difficult right before an improvement. He may start hitting or throwing things or breaking things and then there is this very noticeable improvement (speech, play skills, stims) and things quiet down.

Hi, Yes I have experienced those behavioral things with my son too. My son usually acts up when he has an ear infection or something is bothering him. He doesn't talk but I know when his behavior gets really bad then its time to go see the doctor. 9 times out of 10 he has some sickness and thats a sign when he regresses. Take that as a sign to see the doctor. It sure does help. Hang in there.

Thanks for your quick replies, I hope your children continue to do well. Even though it is difficult, every little advancement is one to celebrate. :bouncing:
