Right, we need some positive stuff so I was thinking, I've been on another board where this has worked really well and I don't know if its been done here but it hasn't recently.

So any little progresses you make, no matter how big or small, you can record here.

For example: today I have had TWO meals and popcorn when I watched a film, it might have left me feeling like a pig but its still an achievement for me lol.

So everyone get posting. Any good point to your day. Any achievement you've made.

Ok so I REALLY LIKE THIS IDEA!!!

So let me kick this thing back to the top of the page....

I have been out of hospital a week now and I am still sticking mostly to the meal plan!!!

I won't say any of the negatives on here regarding this because this is to celebrate the good things right?

I DO like this idea too!

Hmm my achievement for today (so far) would be that I have a "normal" McDonalds meal (as in, no salad or "lighter choices menu" stuff- i had fries and a burger) and didnt restrict before or after!

Hooray for all of us!

:D I think everyones doing very well. The other reason threads like these are helpful is because on the days you're not doing so good you can come here and read what you've achieved and know that you can do it again.

Well, my achievement for today is that I didn't give in earlier when I wanted to purge lol. Not much but every little counts!

I really like this idea too! Positives are a MUST when dealing with stuff like this.
Today I ate two meals and had ice cream! This was great because I didn't freak (too bad) :)
May not be much but god it really is to me!!

Let's keep this thread going, it's a fabulous idea!

Yesterday I ate a meal in the evening (something I haven't been able to do for months) and I managed to stop myself from purging afterwards, even though I really REALLY wanted to. So...hurrah!

Everyone is doing great!

I agree with juicy*lucy, everyone's doing great!

Well todays achievement, I starved myself at school but I got home and gave mself the whole 'this is stupid, think what you're doing to yourself' talk and made myself a sandwich. I know it doesnt sound like much but hey! Even with baby steps we'll all get there.

Thats really great guys....Ive been doing well lately, I cant really say that Ive done like one notable thing...but heres something;

I just started school again, and seeing all my friends from before and everyone made me realize how pointless dieting and being a certain weight to the last decimal was. I got back and almost EVERYONE has gained a teeny bit of weight. You dont really notice it when youre with them everyday, but seperate for the summer and you see. I guess I figure whats the point of being super thin when everyone else isnt? THere are so many other- better- ways to stand out, like cutting your hair or wearing funky colours or accesories. I mean, if Im like the only super thin person (an exaggeration, but you get my point), who will look at me and say "Oh yes, shes by far the healthiest, most fun, best, prettiest and nicest person" when Im too busy dieting to have a donut when a teacher brings them in or one chip when theres a big group of friends. I mean, everyone will be heavier then me anyway- why not eat just when Im hungry, and stop when Im full? Anyways just thought I'd lend some insight...this post is really great because it keeps us motivated to keep doing better things. Hopefully you all will be regulars here! (Including you Aur!!!)

hehehe the first achievement isnt really ed realted but ...

1) Sorted out school and am pretty much up to date with homework (which believe me, is amazing for me because I used to leave it until the night/morning before it was due in)

2) I ate infront of a friend today and didn't feel guilty about it at all.

Take care, I hope everyone has a good weekend

GG, how are you? I haven't heard from you in a while, so I am wondering. I love your insight, by the way.

As some of you know, I am in this forum because I am trying desperately to gain any insights I can into this terrible disease for a friend whose 17-year-old daughter is battling ed.

Hope it isn't too dorky of me to post this, but this week my friend found a bottle of diet pills in her dd's car, along with a package of cigarettes and some Ex-Lax. She (dd) had never smoked before and went through eight of them, and she took maybe six of the Ex-Lax. BUT -- here's GOOD part!!!!! -- she had opened the bottle of diet pills and didn't take even one of them!!!!!

I told my friend that what she and her dd need to be focusing on isn't the ciggies or the Ex-Lax, but on the fact that she didn't take any of the diet pills!! Obviously, she wanted to, or she never would have bought them, but she didn't go through with it! :bouncing:

Way to go, sweetie!!

Hugs to all,
Pat

Here's an achievement for you, Miss Quench!!! You read through all those posts and all those achievements and instead of feeling sorry for yourself or feeling guilty because you couldn't come up with what you thought was a similar achievement on your part, you took the time to reach out and post a heartfelt message of congratulations to the others!!! I know I'm an "outsider" here, but to me, that's a pretty big achievement!!! :D

Maybe we need to broaden the definition of achievement to include anything you did or said that you feel proud of... baby steps, baby steps, baby steps... that's what it's all about!!!!!! (Or maybe I should keep my mouth shut, Emily?!)

Love and CONGRATULATIONS to all of you,
Pat

Well, I hope you get things sorted out soon. And remember, education, first! Work, later. So if it's too much pressure, then quit. You can always resume next summer.

I'm okay, I guess. My bingeing is rocket-high, I am officially through with exercising, and well, that's about it. Not too much to be proud of, hmm? I'm only getting worse. :(

Awww, shucks, Pat! Thank you so much for that!! :) You've made me blush, LOL! But uh.. I DO feel guilty and I DO feel sorry for myself. Well, rather, I am mad at myself. But again, thanks!

Quench, everyone gets mad at themselves sometimes, it doesn't matter. In every single day there is AT LEAST a small achievement you make, even if you don't know it. If you can't think of it now then take refuge in the fact there is one.

PatNJ, I think you are truly amazing to come here and do as much as you can to understand your friend's daughter's issues and to fight alongside with them.

I could expand on this all but a) I'm tired, have to wrap my mums present and I'm getting up in about 6 or so hours and b) you'd all get bored ;)

I don't have enough achievements to know that, or even, to believe it, to tell you the truth!

And yes, Pat, you ARE amazing. It's so sweet and kindhearted of you to do this for your friend's daughter. You must really, really care about her. You're WAY more than a friend. :)
