I get this feeling all the time like I have a HUGE air bubble stuck in my chest, behind my sternum. I feel like I have to burp, but at the same time I cannot breathe well. I tried antacids, but that does not stop pressure, just neutralizes acid. Does anyone else feel this. If so is it esophageal or bronchial?
I hope it is more esophagas related because asthma scares me so much.

Sounds like the same symptoms I was having right before I was diagnosed with GERD. Over the counter antacids just didn't work anymore. My doctor has me on Nexium and I haven't had that "trapped air" pain/pressure behind my sternum since. What you are experiencing might be the same thing. Deffinitely discuss this problem with your doctor.

Sounds like you need to go and see your doctor again. It does sound more like a problem with reflux though.
Take care

Yeah I did talk to my doctor about GERD, and he told me to try prilosec. Now this helped the cough, but I still get the air feeling which makes it hard to breathe. I know the GERD drugs get rid of acid, but what about air? Should I try beano or something, because it feels like a giant air bubble? It is so hard to breathe when I get it so I puff my albuterol which helps a tiny bit, but I still feel the intense pressure and still have a tough time breathing. HELP!!??

I believe that sounds like more of an indigestion thing. I hope this helps a little, because asthma does not quite feel like that to me.
