Takeing one day at a time,it seems like a new battle every day,but....looking at the big picture, from the onset of pain till the surgery, there is a huge improvment, what has me wondering ,is why??from hour to hour syptoms change, like numbness , tingleing, muscle cramps????I would think if a nerve is irratated there would always be the symptom,or am I just the oddball????

I think the symptoms change based on the level of activity you are doing. As far as the nerve impingement (pinch) causing pain all the time - it would depend on how much pressure is applied to the nerve how much pain is generated. Remember, the more activity you do the more pressure is applied to the nerve. That is why they tell you to take it easy and let yourself heal.

When I had my surgery I was sure I would not need the 6 weeks off work that my doctor told me I needed. I begged him to sign the release so I could go back just 2 days early. He finally agreed to do it and I did not last the full days. I do not know how people can go back after only 2 weeks - even if they have a desk job. There is a lot of pressure on the neck muscles and nerves with a desk job. You never realize how much your neck actually does to support your body.

Good luck with your continued recovery - just posting that it feels better at some times is a good sign that you are recovering. :)
