This is my first time posting. About two months ago i had unprotected oral sex with my girlfriend who had a cold sore. So right after the oral sex i washed with an antibacterial hand soap vigorously. Later that night I took a shower and washed the penis head more. Two days later, the opening to the penis became red and inflamed. By the way, my partner and I have only slept with eachother and we always use protection. I got the blood test done for herpes I and II and they came back negative. I also got tested for gonnahrea, syphallis, etc, and they all came back negative. During the past two months I have been using joy dishsoap on the head of the penis and I noticed small bumps and redness. The irritation only seems to be on the head, but it does not itch. I have been using hydrocortisone to get rid of the bumps but it doesn't help. The area only becomes red with my pant rub on it. I did quit using the soap a few weeks ago. My question is, could the harsh soap becausing the inflammed tip and bumps. What could stop this. Any reply will be helpful. Thank you so much!!

I think the title of your post says it all. Joy dishwashing soap! That's for dishes! What would possess you to scrub your penis with it? I'd stop all the soap and maybe just rinse with water for a while, or if you don't feel clean to find a very very mild cleanser.

My roomate works on the rigs and he had joy dishsoap in the shower. I feel stupid for using it. Has anyone had an infection from soap. By the way I am circumsized.

Try something that is antibacterial, mild, and has moisturizers in it.

Sport Hair and Body is a good brand of "soap" that is a shampoo and soap all in one. It is available from some sports stores or check on the internet.

Your roommate may have the Joy in there for getting grime off his hands not for healing his privates.

antibacterial soap bothers me everytime I wash with it.I can wash any part of my body but down there and it won't bother me,but it does dry me out to the point I hurt from it.I would just use water like someone else said earlier for a few days,or a wk.or so.I think it the antibacterial soap washes away the oils in the skin and that's why it dries your skin out so bad.Maybe you could even use a lotion or lubicant to put some of those oils back into your skin, good luck.
