Hi All,

I am looking for a supplement or vitamin that will help my 10 year old daughter with her attention and concentration. She is not ADD and is a good student in school. However, I think she needs a little help with her concentration. I have heard that zinc can help, but that is it. Any ideas or suggestions?

Is she deficient in magnesium, Iron, or Essential Fatty acids like omega 3's. They sell fish oil for kids at health food stores. Many children in the U.S. are deficient in these minerals. The things I mentioned are usually what is lacking in one's diet that results in concentration problems. Is she a vegetarian? Just curious. :)

Jessica,

Thanks for responding. My daughter, also named Jessica, is not a very good eater. She is very picky so it would not surprise me if she was lacking many different nutrients. She is not vegatarian, but eats very little meat. Not much fruit either. I will look into getting her some of the items you listed. She hates to take anything. According to her, everything taste horrible, even capsules that she swallows. Whe are talking major picky and dramatic.

They sell liquid vitamins at health food stores, make sure it contains those three important nutrients. Try to have her obstain from sugar, for it affects everyone differently and it may pose concentration problems for her. You can sneak a squirt of these vitamins in her juice and she'll never know. :)
