View Full Version : Do Facials Work To Clear Up YOUR Skin? Advice, Please!!

So, I went to get my legs waxed the other day, and the esthetician told me that if I start coming in for monthly facials, she can clear up my acne before May of 2003, when I am getting married. I REALLY want to be clear for my wedding, but facials are REALLY expensive!!
I just want to know if anyone else has had success with them??

Money is tight, and I can't afford to be wrong! Is she just saying this so that I will pay for facials?? What should I do??

By the way, I have moderate acne composed of scattered whiteheads and small blackheads. I have combination skin, oily in the T-zone, and super dry everywhere else.

If you can, please offer me some advice!! THANKS!!

hi,

Yes getting a regular facial will help clear up acne..BUT you can also save money by using products yourself. The three products no woman should ever be with out and they can be used everyday:cleansing milk, a good moisturer something with collagen, and a toner. You should also have an exfoilant to be used every three days or so. I am also an esthetician and facials do not need to be once a month either. If money is tight try to go it on your own. If you need more help you can e-mail me: c_seiller@hotmail.com
Hope this helps!! And congrats on the wedding!!

i would be leery of anyone who claims that one solution will clear you up. acne can be hormonal, and if that is the case, i don't suppose anything you do to the skin on your face can solve that.

it depends on how bad the pimples are. for a bad case of acne i don't think facials can really help that much. there are oral prescription medications and Retin A cream they use at dermatology offices. there is a basic facial that is the least expensive where they just remove blackheads and don't do luxurious masks that will save you money. if you go to a facial salon ask for the basic facial. best wishes. pinkcat

I use to use a mask called "mudd"... but it brought up bacteria out of my pores and let it on the surface... it actually made me break out...

It happened to my friend too!
