I always get lightheaded a couple of days before my period starts and sometimes lasts until about the second day of my period........I also get this during ovulation.....does anyone know what causes this? It has been suggested to me that maybe it was the increase in fluid in my ear.......and since I do have inner ear problems...maybe so....Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

Wow- The same thing happens to me. Are you also really tired? Mine starts two or three days before my period and I usually feel better when I get it. It's like I feel like my head isn't on right for a few days. I feel anxious and nervous. I just feel like something bad is going to happen to me. Are you on the birth control pill? I am, and it helps a little, but I still feel lightheaded and it makes me nervous. Let me know. I know it is part of pms and the dr told me to exercise and bla bla, but I wish I had more answers on how to fight it. Maybe a vitamin?

My guedd would be low iron and patassuim. They can both give you those symptons and they are both used alot during a women's cycle.

You're possibly Anemic(low iron). Get some blood drawn at your doctor's office. Or just try taking a daily vitamin to see if it helps any.

Yeah Im like that all the time if I dont take my iron and its always worse on my period. Im anemic that why. You should definetly start taking iron and see if that helps and go to the doctor and get your blood drawn to find out for sure. Good Luck1 :bouncing:

I will get tested for anemia but the only reason I do not think it is that is because it is mostly before I actually start, before I start loosing blood, I feel fine about the second day of starting.......if I was anemic wouldn't It be worse during and after my period...... Its weird to me that it hapens for a day or two around ovulation and a day or two before I actually start. Thanks for the suggestions, and I will get tested.....I have mentioned this before at my yearly appoitments with gyno and she said it was just a part of pms but couldn't tell me why....Thanks again!! Oh and to atvgirl.....no I don't get really tired but I do get quite anxious about it sometimes.. my energy level actually gets pretty high right before.
