This just started happening today... I have this sharp throbbing on and off inner ear pain, that lasts for a few seconds and goes away. I think I scratched the inside of my ear by accident... could I have an infection? If so, what should I do? Thanx

Hi. I am new to this site but I saw your post about the sharp throbbing ear pain. I'm not sure when it was posted, but I am having the same problem. I was just wondering if you've gotten any feedback from that and if you've seen what may be causing it. For my pain, I'll be just sitting there and all of a sudden there will be sharp throbbing pains shoot through my right ear. My left one doesn't do it. It will last a matter of 5 or so seconds and then it stops. It only happens maybe once a day, sometimes only 5 times a week, so it isn't constant. Even though it isn't constant, the pain is horrible and brings tears to my eyes most of the time. Thanks and I hope you hear from you!

I get that too - it was the first symptom of my labyrinthitis, so you might have an infection. Have a chat with your doctor if it persists.
