Hi all
I am very concerned about if I take Vitamin B12 at 50mcg tablet oral. Is it too much? I usually take 3mcg or nothing at all. I know it is so much above the RDA. Just now i just took 50mcg B12 for the first time and i would like to ask, how long would it take to see the therapeutic effects? The effects can be mild like helping me to improve my concentration, memory or perhaps the long term benefits? Thank you for all the advices. Greatly appreciated. Is there toxicity or side effects at this dosage of 50mcg? Thank you so much!! :bouncing:

Hi,
Not sure on the amount, I have pernicous anemia, so I get injections, every 6 to 8weeks. I'm not sure in tablet form what amount, although after I get it I have alot of energy, and not so draggy. I think a health food store could help you.

B-12 is water soluble. Whatever your body doesn't use, it will get rid of. I haven't heard of any toxicity levels with B-12.

No known toxicity to high levels of B12. It is one vit that you use very little of and lose very little of. You can take whatever you are comfortable with. I have pernicious anemia so I give myself injections every 3 weeks and also a sublingual B12 everyday.

I take 2500mcg daily of b-12. (as the bottle suggests) I used to take b-12 shots every week too. I also drink Red Bulls which have 80% b-12 in it. It is water soluable and your body will get rid of any excess amount. It is not harmful.

Thanks..
But i don't think i have the need to take up to 2500mcg. Although it may not like u say have toxicity but neither do i feel i have the need to take that much dose. I feel normal at times and stressful at other times. But i don't feel extremely somewhat different to take such a high dose. I believe it is for therapeutic benefits and to solve some ailments since i don't feel such a need, perhaps i can just stick with 50mcg. Sometimes i feel i see the effects of taking vitamins. But could it just be a state of my mind? A placebo effects. I wonder..

Hi
By the way i just also bought a can of red bull. I noticed the 80% B12 is of no significant value. Because it has only a merely 5mcg in a can. Heh
