Hi all - I was wondering if anyone has similar problems to me . My IBS ( diagnosed about a year ago after MANY tests ) goes like this :

usually loose stools ( with undigested food - sorry , bit gross ! ) .
occasional watery diarrhoea .
sometimes no BM for a day or so ( is this classed as constipation ? ) .
pain - stinging , cramping , sharp , can be low , high , middle , left or right .
hot flushes , sometimes after eating .
sometimes feel weak and "shaky" after eating .
distension + a lot of gas ( which may be "hot" feeling ) .

Any reassurance or comments would be great - also do you find that BM's tend to "irritate" you sometimes - as if they are acidic ? .

Sounds like classic IBS. There's a ton of good info at www.helpforibs.com. I avoid all dairy products, greasy food, hard chocolate, egg yokes, nuts and take metamucil. Also - insoluble fiber must be eaten with soluble fiber. Check out the web site, though, it's explained way better than I can.
