I know this is going to sound stupid but I thought I'd just post it and see what everyone thinks. :bouncing:
I just started the Patch about a month ago. I just took off the last patch on Sunday so my period should be starting soon. Ok Well they say that it takes 7 days for the patch to be effective. Has anyone out there actually started to have sex without the condom after the 7 days that they have claimed is ok to do so and been ok and fine? I just wondering. Yes I had unprotected sex 14 days after I started it and I also started it the 2nd day of my period.... but I've had the same partner for 5 yrs and I don't need to worry about the STD's and all that other hoopla that everyone out there is going to try to warn me about. I was on the pill for 4 yrs and never used a condom the whole time and all my Paps have been good.. well so far :p I got off the Pill 6 mths ago due to lack of sex drive and well 6 mths later my period never evened out I think i got it about everyother month and the Sex Drive didn't get better so Im getting back on Birthcontrol because I HATE condoms. Ok well this is just a basic question I'd like anwsered just if you have been on the patch and you are proof it works right I'd like to hear from you. Also if you are planning on telling me what to use and what to worry about don't bother writing back i know what i did and I know what COULD happen I don't need you to tell me what I already know. Im just wondering about the Patch here. Thanks!

I was on the patch for almost 3 years....and never ended up preggo...if thats what your worried about.
I DTD at all different times during my m/s and never had a prob.
(Just as a side note...I came off the patch the 1st week of july to ttc and found out last week that i AM prego...so it didnt take years(for me at least) to get prego.)
Hope this helps!

i wouldnt freak out too soon...i know its hard...i usually got mine on wed night or sometime thurs morning....sometimes on friday, but not usually....
my periods then only lasted 2 or 3 days....
and if you do start nearer to the end of the week....start the patch on sunday anyways.
if you dont get it by sunday, i would take a hpt and/or call my doc and go from there....
good luck and keep us posted!

Ducki979- Thank you for your response. I have yet to get my period. I'm hoping either tonight or in the morning. I did buy a Preg Test and I'll be sure to take that tonight to sooth my nerves. I'll let you know if there is any bad news or If I get my period! Thanks again!
