I recently went to a psychologist to sort out all the issues that I have and it is slowly getting better. However, I had been taking laxatives at night for I don't even know how many years but 2 days ago I decided enough is enough. My question is that it has been soo long since I have had a normal bowel movement I don't know what is normal. Should you go at least once a day or when is it considered constipation? I had a little bit the 2 days I didn't take them. I was surprised, it wasn't much though. I hope I didn't screw up my system too much already.

It varies from person to person as to whats 'normal'....in my health book it says some people go once a day others as few as twice a week so i guess anywhere between that would be considered normal i suppose...and i think constipation is classified as not going in over a week but i dunno for sure

Confused,
All bodies are different, but using laxitives as much as you have, you may have already caused harmed to your system. I abused laxitives when I was in the midst of my ED and five years later my system still does not function properly and my doctor told me that it may never.

Laxative are BAD news. Now that you stopped taking them, don't start again.

I have been taking them forever as well. If I don't take them whatever I eat that day I make sure it's loaded with fiber and I drink a lot of water. Which is probably just as bad. I'm also afraid that I have messed up my system. I'm afraid to quit taking them. How did you stop.
