I have read on these boards and have talked to numerous friends about the pains of being a girl and Im starting to wonder if what I have is just normal because Im starting to think that what I have, most other girls have too, some way worse. The first and second day of my period are heavy and then after that its very light. The thing is,that some periods are worse than others.Like for some,I will have very minimal cramps and I will feel fine,I will feel a little "weird" but otherwise fine.Sometimes though I will get so sick.I will feel dizzy and faint but it comes and goes all day,I will feel nauseous,I will feel like throwing everything I eat right up after I eat,I will be soooo incredibly grouchy and be mad at everything (Im glad I have a patient guy who makes me laugh) I will have cramps so bad.The cramps feel like I have to go the bathroom really really bad but it feels like if I do go to the bathroom I will rip my stomach out.I also feel like I will faint alot and Iam pale at times. When I was on the pill I was fine,I had zero discomfort during my period,no cramps,no nausea, nothing but the pill made me depressed so Im on the patch now.

I just would like to know of other people who have painful periods and just some reassurance that Im not the only one!

Thanks

Its the Patch! Read the Side Effects you just said most of them. I was on the pill fine and now I've been on the patch for 1 month and I had pain, Nausea, and was just uncomfortable. Its normal for the Patch! I'm heading back over to the pill on Sunday! Good Luck

I haven't been on b/c, so I don't know the side effects. However, I did have heavy-to-light, painful periods and had nothing wrong with me. My pelvic exams and pap smears came out normal. However, I have heard that the pill can help with the pain, so maybe that is why you didn't have discomfort while on it.

Hope you get better.

Yes I believe you are totally normal.

I am 31 and have had the same symptoms as yourself since i first got AF.

One month I be totally fine, and then the next it will be the worst pain ever. When the cramps are the worst, I throw up, have the shakes, and once the cramps stop i am totally exhausted

I went onto the pill, and it helped with the symptoms, even though sometimes I would still get cramps, but nothing as bad as when I was off the pill.

The feeling of wanting to go to the bathroom, I have found over the years, that squatting help and if I can I try to avoid using tampons on the day of cramping. Another tip is when the cramping is bad I find that laying on my back with my legs up in a 90 degree angle on a wall works wonders :dizzy:

Hope I have helped you a little.
