My 4 year old has 6 front top teeth eroded from a sippy cup. My pediatric dentist says not to do anything with them, however one is splitting in the front from a cavity. I took her to a surgeon and he said they should be repaired. My dentist said it is not worth the while or the money. Kids are asking what is the matter with her tooth.
Does anyone know anything about getting caries filled in a 4 year old. Would they do a crown or can they do bonding. There are also caries at the gum line. They are not getting any worse according to the dentist.
Would she get freezing or maybe a little sedative? Can bonding be done on the 1 front that is eroding. HELP!!!!!

Bonding and filling is indeed the way to go I think, of course its hard to say without not seeing the tooth. If it looks noticable, the older she gets the more likely it is she will notice it too. Fortunately the front tops are usually the first to go, so she won't have it for long. I would find a second opinion from another pediatric denist if possible. But I know as young as she is, they are going to try to put off work on it... If I were you, when they did the work I would certainly make sure they use some sort of sedative for her - no point in making it very stressful on her...
