I had a leep done in July 2004 and the past couple times my husband & I have sex I have a brown discharge when I go to the bathroom afterwards. It is only the one time and then I'm fine. Is this from the leep or should I call the dr? Thanks :)

I had my LEEP done at the end of May & I still haven't had sex :rolleyes: ! I would call the dr - just to be on the safe side.

I had a LEEP done a few years back and I know that the doctor would not let me have intercoarse until I was totaly heeled. He had to give the ok.
Deffinately call your doctor.

hello i had my leep in july also and i have the same thing happen to me after sex.also i have light bleeding after a bm if i like have to strain but just on tolet paper no pouring blood ever.i think maybe our cervix is not healed all the way yet because i never done anything like this before the leep.

How long did you wait before you had sex, after the LEEP? I had mine at the end of May (the 26th) and I still haven't done the deed yet. I was bleeding during intercourse (before the LEEP) and I guess that I'm just a little nervous that I might bleed again or that it might be somewhat painful. I saw an oncologist on 7/02/04 and he checked me out and gave me the "OK" to resume "normal" activity.

The doctor told me to wait 2 weeks but we waited for 5 weeks. I didn't spot in the beginning it just started the last couple of times we've had sex.

I was told at least 6 weeks, which I'm WELL over by now.

I don't remmember how long I actualy had to wait, due to the fact it was a few years ago that I had the LEEP.

But I DO remmember that once I was able too have intercoarse, I did not have any staining or bleeding.

I would deffinately talk to your doctor about this !! That doesn't sound right to me at all!!

I still get it occasionally, and my LEEP was a year ago. I just notice a light pink color when I wipe after sex or BM every once in awhile. I was going to ask my Dr. next time if that is normal...

:D Well, I finally did it! I had no pain, but I did have some faint spotting afterwards, but it didn't look like fresh blood - it was dark. I asked my cousin, who is a physician, and she told me that it was probably healing tissue that was knocked loose or it was left over from my period, which ended 3-4 days before the fact. Just in case, I did leave a message for my doctor to call me back.

It is always good to be on the safe side and tell your doctor !! I am sure everything should be fine !!

OK, I did speak to my doctor about it and he told me that the cervix should DEFINITELY be healed up after 4 months and the old blood was most likely from my period (I had just finished my period within 3-4 days beforehand). We'll see what happens next time! ;)

hey i waited 6 weeks till i had sex.i always find that when i do have spoting after sex it is around the time i start.so i think thats it because i have not had any spotting after sex in 2 weeks so i guess will see

Just keep an eye on it. But at least that was good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dr told me that the reason that I was bleeding in the first place was because I had cervical erosion from my bc pills - that's when the cells in the cervix "bunch up" and start to bud out through the vagina and when they're disturbed (pap, sex), they bleed. I had them removed when I had the LEEP, so I actually had 2 procedures done at once. If it does keep happening, I'm not going to take bc pills anymore - it's really not worth the aggravation!

Just keep an eye on it. But at least that was good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!
