OK a couple of weeks ago I went to the hospital because of some facial numbness. Anyways they drew blood from me because thats part of procedure and they said my bloodwork was fine. My question is if I had HIV would they have seen that in my test results or would I have had to go for specifically and HIV test?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you have to specifically request an HIV test. The best thing for you to do would be to simply call your hospital and ask them.

Durtro is right. The only test that can confirm if you have HIV or not is the HIV test.
If the HIV was already at the stage of making you ill, a regular blood test may pick up an abnormality in your blood but would not be able to confirm what the problems was.

Not 100% sure - but I think they would only have tested you for HIV if you were presenting the symptoms (is facial numbness a symptom - not sure). And they would have had to tell you this.
