Can someone tell me, or point me in the direction to a website that can tell me, about the statges of copensation? I am utterly confused about my condition. I've had it for exactly a year on the 7th of this month. I have posted my story so I won't go into great detail here, but basically when it started, it started with constant spinning. That lasted maybe 4 days and then it wasn't so violent. But after about another week the bad spinning came back for another 5 days or so. From then on it it was just quick spins here and there, constant sense of off balance, and off course the foggy head and cognitive troubles. I had a fairly good winter with minimal problems but in April the foggy head and all of the stuff came creaping back and has been off and on horrible since then. BUT the feelings I am having this year as opposed to last feel different! I feel like lately it has been more like visual disturbances and also this feeling of rocking or wooziness often when sitting still. Last year I had a lot of positional problems--laying down was really bad. But now when I lay in bed I don't get those spins. Like I said, this year is almost a totally different feeling.
Does this mean that I'm compensating or maybe that I've developed a more complex problem? I was initially diagnosed w/ BPPV on the right side. I am going to see a specialist on the 17th to hopefully get some help. Are there therapies that I can do to train my eyes to feel better? Please any input would be appreciated. Good luck to all.
