Recently I have been feeling very "not normal" and "toxic". I usually get this way around the time of my period, because I get extremely constipated; but after I take Oral magnesium Citrate, the "toxic" feeling goes away. In general, this toxic feeling is relieved by constant snacking on light foods or a bowel movement. Water tends to make me feel even more sick, if not nausea. (By "toxic" I mean, I'll get headaches, but they are not really painful or in my head per se, but they feel as though they are in my face and eyes and I just feel generally malaise, sluggish, bloated, and poisoned. It's like the type of headache some people experience after eating pork, if they can't really tolerate it. My blood pressure is never high by the way.)
I have tried colon cleansers in the past, but the only thing it did was made me constipated and gaseous. I have been taking Nature's Tea, an herbal cleanser and detox. However, I have not seen any roundworms or spaghetti type parasites in the fecal matter, which leads me to think that there is more deep down in my intestines that hasn't been flushed out yet.
After reading about colonics, colon cleansers, and taking the Senna based tea, I'm starting to get confused about the purpose of these products and procedures. I also don't understand which is more effective, colon cleansing powders/pills or colonics. Maybe I don't even understand what colonics IS, but I am speaking in reference to the procedure where a tube is inserted in the anus and water is flushed in. Someone also mentioned doing this at home. Is the in-office procedure as effective as doing it at home? How does it work? Where do I purchase one one of these kits? Does it hurt? Is it messy and unsanitary? Where does the waste go and how is it eliminated if you do it at home? Are there chimicals/solutions that help breakdown the fecal matter more or will water pretty much flush everything out? How will I know that everything is completely out of my intestines? Is an herbal based tea (Senna) as effective as this procedure? I wanted to have this done, but it looks like this procedure can run as much as $90 per session and I've read that it could take as many as 7 in-office visits. I really don't have that type of money.
If someone can help answer these questions, it would greatly be appreceiated.
