How important is it to apply liquid foundation using these little wedges? Does it make any difference if foundation is applied with fingertips? Also if they are important, what is the proper care of them? How often do they need to be rinsed out, when do they need to be discarded?

I thought they were for one time use only. They are supposed to work better if they are slightly damp. They DO help to keep our fingers off our faces! And it is easier to blend makeup with them.

I use to use those when I was in highschool but now I use my fingers. When I used the sponges, I would throw them away after each use. You can get a bunch of those wedges in a bag for a couple dollars. I think using finger tips are better though. To me, the sponges don't blend makeup as well. However, I have heard pro and con opinions about each.

Hmmmmmm... The girls at the make up counters say that these sponges help to make the make up go on more evenly. I think the make up does not go on as heavy with them, and that I get better coverage using my fingers! And I guess if I plan to use them Ibetter buy a bag, and not keep rinsing the ONE I have! Thanks for the replies.

I have used the little wedge sponges but find that applying foundation with my fingertips gives me the coverage that I prefer. I seem to be in better control using my finger.

I always find that those wedges soak up too much of my foundation and I use up my foundation much quicker. I think that's why the makeup counter ladies suggest it... that way you'll come back to buy foundation more often. My fingers work fine for me.

its true they soak up a lot of make up but also they DO keep fingers or ur face but if u just wash ur hands really well first its fine to use ur fingers. to get cracks like next to ur nose use a wedge but so u dont waste make up only use the sponges a little not the whoole face unless u dont mind spending money on more foundation. it also depends on how think ur foundation is
