This post is for anyone who knows alot about make-up brushes and cosmetics: what is the fan brush (in a set of cosmetics brushes) used for? I've always wondered.... It's kinda stiff and oddly shaped and I can't figure out what purpose it would serve.

I'm interested in this also, I've never seen one in a makeup brush kit, only in painting. :D

Sometimes it is used to whisk away flakes of eyeshadow that may drop onto the cheek area when applying. Probably used mainly by make-up artists.
