Are there any known side effects to taking the magnesium supplement? I took my first pill last night and all day today I have been feeling lightheaded and out of breath. Do you think that could be related? I feel horrible!

I have discovered over the years that any supplement, food etc can affect people in different ways depending on that person system. If you feel bad taking something there is a reason and stop taking the stuff immediately.
Magnesium is suppose to have no side effect if taken in a moderate amount. A moderate amount can be different from person to person. I have taken a calcium magnesium supplement with no side effects. You might discontinue taking this stuff and start back later. If the same thing happens again you have confermed your system does not like this stuff. Obey your System!

Magnesium is in every cell of your body and 67% of it is in your bones. It is essential for you to absorb calcium and even for your heart to beat, as well as activates many enzymes. So, You have to have it to live!!!
Start off with a low dose---?? Or it has to be something in the product you are taking other than magnesium. The daily dose for magnesium is 400 milligrams.

Magnesium supplementation is not likely to be associated with any problems. A HUGE overdose of several grams at once would be a laxative (like Citrate of Magnesia or epsom salts (hydrated magnesium sulfate.)) Certainly anything up to 500 mg. will be just fine for everyone.
kris,
I think your bad day was just coincidental.
