How infrequent and scarce can periods be during menopause. If you just have a scant showing every now and then would that still be considered a period?

Yes or you can call it spotting. Menopause is hard to determine these days for women who still have their uterus and ovaries. I get this at times, it's still counts as a period, unless you are having light bleeding in between periods, then it would be called spotting or breakthrough bleeding.

I have skipped a month or two, and have also had periods 18 days apart...

The latest was a 4 month "summer break" which wasn't so bad until I started to think what if...

Have started being perimenopausal since last year. I have been able to deal with irregular periods and skipping months on occasion. The latest addition to all this is that this past month, I have had my period for almost the entire month of September. Except for 2-3 days off, I have been bleeding almost the entire month.

The latest is that I am starting to pass large clots out of my uterus. I contacted my mom since when she started menopause, she pretty much had the same type of symptoms. I am passing clots ranging in size from the size of the quarter to a small handful. I am so afraid that I am hemmoraging.

Nervous and don't know whats up. Can anyone help?
