Can anyone tell me if there's a vitamin or something out there that you can take to get rid of the varicose veins that appear on my legs every now and then? I can't go thru any surgery especially if insurance doesn't cover it...I was hoping for a pill or something...Thanks

Horse chestnut extract and grape seed extract helped my wife.

What exactly is that and is this a pill form and where do I get this? My veins aren't that bad but at times they do pop out some...I think moreso when I'm on them all day. Thanks

These are more for if your legs ache, addressing venous insufficiency - vein walls expanding and thereby not allowing the valves to do their work in pumping blood from the legs. The could help you, and if you are young, this could be preventive therapy. If you have not had any children yet, you definitely should ask your doctor about vein problems during pregnancy, as this can cause permanent damage. The problem can be addressed, but you have to ask about it first.

Do a search for the herbs I listed. There are resources out there that provide writeups for most, if not all, herbs. Of course, I can't provide a web site here, even though they don't provide the resources that the web site I'd list do. AHEM!

Thank You Johnx...

I'm 41 so I still look at myself as being young. I'm pretty active also...playing sports and with my jobs and family... I'm all done having children so that's not a factor anymore. I'll do a search anf find out where I can get this product and let you know...How long did it take for your wife to see any results? Thanks again

I can't really remember, but they did help. BTW, she got the recommendation from a natropathic doctor and not merely through a web search.

I'm 47 and have varicose veins in both legs. They look awful. Sometimes my little cousins will say, "Is that a bruise?" But mine don't hurt at all, they are just blue and puffy!! Any suggestions???
Cindy :)

Well I purchased the Horse Chestnut pills and started taking them this morn...My veins aren't that bad...but they do have moments that sometimes they pop out and then other times you don't see them...like I have nice looking legs...from what the guy told me at the store...this is wonderful stuff and really helps in the flowing of the blood in the veins. So maybe you'd like to try this too proudmomma...I'll try to keep you posted and see the results in 1 week. Not sure what a week will do but...we'll post back and tell ya

My wife's legs actually hurt and she'd have to elevate them a couple of times a day. During pregnancy and exercise, she had to wear compression hose to help with the flow.

I don't know if these herbs would help with the appearance, but they did help her with the pain. In the end, she got vein stripping surgery. It's not like it was years ago when it was all bloody and a mess. It went very well. Recovery was a couple of days, then she could be back on her feet. Then again, we had a doctor who is a pioneer in this field and did an amazing job. There's also VNUS procedure, but the insurance wouldn't cover that (they covered most of the stripping surgery). VNUS looks better, but you have to ensure you have an experienced dr who knows what he's doing, as you can be left with scars if it's not done right (if the vein is too close to the surface, it can leave a burn mark on your skin.).

I wish the best to you both.
