What is Trichotillomania?
It is officially classified as an impulse control disorder, along the lines of pyromania, kleptomania, and pathologic gambling.

Recurrent pulling out of one’s hair resulting in noticeable hair loss.
An increasing sense of tension immediately before pulling out the hair or when resisting the behavior.
Pleasure, gratification, or relief when pulling out the hair.
The disturbance is not accounted for by another mental disorder and is not due to a general medical condition (i.e., dermatological condition).
The disturbance causes significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.

I do, which is embarassing to admit even on a message board but yes, I do. I didn't know it was called that until now though.

Hey Everyone! Just want to assure you that you are not alone out there. I'm 26 years old and I've been pulling my hair out since I was about 2-4 years old. A lot of my memories from when I started behaving and thinking differently at this age are simply black and nothing is there. I don't know if any of us could pinpoint an exact moment or thought in time that made us behave this way, but it will be OK. Hopefully we will learn lessons from it and be stronger because of it. Love is all we need
