ok ok....i know this has been brought up thousands of times...about oral sex... but lemme explain my story...maybe I can get some reassurance from people who really know whats goin on.


From Late september to mid november 2003...I was "seeing" this girl. During this time...I went down on her once (unprotected...and no ejaculation)...and vaginally fingered her on about 4-5 occasions. I do bite my nails and the skin around them...so there are little cuts and pieces of skin missing from time to time. I later found out she has herpes.

Ok...so my symptoms (which i know u shouldnt diagnose urself from)
A couple of weeks into the relationship...I started to sweat at night...wouldnt say they were "night sweats" cause they wrrent drenching...but like my undershirt and sheets were damp...and the sweat had this odor. Anyways...that went away...and approximately 11 weeks after the "relationship" was over...I developed bacterial pneumonia. I had a fever for 10 days...sweating when fever would go up or down...chills..(no swollen glands or rashes) and headache. Had a chest X-ray...the doctory gave me antibiotics...and it cleared up a couple of days later.

now..9 months later...within all the time that has passed from the pneumonia...I've had 2 sinus infections..something that has become chronic over the last couple of yrs...and what seems like phlegm constantly in mythroat/lungs.

It should be known I was a pretty frequent marijuana smoker for the last 4-5 yrs...(have since quit once I got the pneumonia.)


So my question is....I know my risk was low...prolly very low...and I will get tested...cause I've been consumed with worrying. But my sympotms are like constant with the phlegm and sinus problems...and I'm not getting better.
Could it be the unthinkable...or the marijuana long term effects??

I dont think you should worry, I used to worry so much about thinking i had a.i.d.s, I was always checking my glands and worrying if i would sweat in the night, i was too scared to get tested but i finally did and it was negative and i felt so much better. if your constantly look for symptoms your gonna find them cuz those symptoms are pretty general. so dont worry yourself to much

There are no documented cases of HIV being spread this way--the threat is merely theoretical. It CAN happen, if there was a bleeding sore/cut in your mouth, and she had enough of the virus in her vaginal secretions, and or was bleeding when you went down on her, however...its just HIGHLY highly unlikely.

Jim, I don't see anything to worry about. As for herpes, you may start getting cold sores if she actually did have herpes. Could be just a rumor that most people like to start.

Do you or have you ever smoked? Cigarettes? That could be what causes your chest phlem. It can also cause the sinus and pnuemonia. Sinus infections are common, sometimes they can't always be treated and you have to get them taken care of some other way. Pnuemonia can also happen at any time. Just because it isn't winter doesn't mean you cant get it. The germs and bacteria don't take vacations! :o) I hope all comes out well. Just chill and take it easy. I know it is hard to not worry about something like this but whats done is done, no matter what the outcome no one can go back and change anything. But I really really believe you are negative! The more you worry will just add to your health. Your body can/does get worn out from stress which leads to health problems, even sinuses. Thats your bodies way of saying hey man I've had enough take it easy!

ok...im freaking out....i know the phlegm is developing in my lungs....my left lung...and i keep having panic attacks...my heart beats fast and hard...and my sinus problems and ear clogging are not going away and I'm on antibiotics....im really freaking out..I know nobody wants to hear from me anymore...because I had such a low risk exposure...but i really believe i have it....does anybody know a conselor i can call...like an HIV conselor?..

Just breath, relax. HIV isn't air born you didn't have a risk at all. Unless there's more to your story you didn't catch HIV.

hey everyone...thanks for getting back to me...i know i sound like an idot..but u know how the worried get...anyways..i went to my doctor today..but the lab was closed....so im going tommorow to get the test done....please wish me luck....im scarred
