Hi, Ive been having problems with my ears for about 8 weeks now. It all started when i went to a concert, the first time ive ever been to anything loud.
After the concert i had ringing in my ears, my left ear also popped and wouldnt unpop for about 2 hours after wards.
The next morning i woke up with a really wierd feeling in my face and right ear, like something was stuck in my ear.
I went to see the doctor who said it would just go away on its own after a few weeks and not to worry. 3 weeks later i went back to the doctor and she gave me a hearing test which came back showing i had perfect hearing, both even and perfect. The ringing wasnt so bad but was still there.
While having all these problems i also had a really blocked up nose, only on one side, the side which i was having the feeling, also my ears feels really itchy at times like something is trying to move out of them, the temptation to scratch is very great but i hate sticking anything in my ear.
3 weeks later i was starting to feel better and went to leicester on my motorbike, a good 2 hour journey, there, and then 2 hours back, shared between me and my mate.
When i got home my ears felt worse and my nose felt even more blocked and i also had a really funny feeling in my face, like it was been squashed in a vice, my face also felt prickly from time to time. From time to time my ears also fluttered, which now seems to have stopped.
A week afterwards i went with my dad, in a van, to pick up a motorcycle in manchester, the roads where very hilly and on the descents my ears kept feeling very full and wouldnt come back to normal when the road ascended, when i got home that night my ears felt quite full and it took until the next morning for them to feel right.
I went to see the doctor again who refered me to the ENT specialist, who i am still waiting to see. Now i started to get really scared. All my world seemed to start falling apart around me.
My head feels like it dosent belong to me and everything kind of feels distant, i can hear people speaking and respond quite sensibly but it dosent feel like im saying it. I've always worried about problems but this problem has brought me to my knees, im not ashamed to say i have even cried about it.
While i have been experiencing these problems i have also noticed a few other things:
-When i swallow my right ear only, cracks really loud
-I cant pop my ears by inching my nose and blowing, if i manage it(but i dont blow to hard, ive heard this can damge your ears too),i can only pop my right ear, which takes me lots of time to unpop, and afterwards feels even more uncomfortable.
-When i stretch my mouth open my ringing perception gets worse
-When i stretch my jaw i can also hear like a release of air from my right ear only, sometimes it feels like alot, others hardly anything
-My head feels cloudy
-Sometimes i have a sore throat, either left or right side
-When i sniff up, my ears crackle and sometimes my left ear pops and wont un pop for minutes afterwards.
-I get headaches and face pains.
-When i submerse my head say in the bath, and then lift my head back out again, my left ear feels like its trying to equlize, and pops and pops and pops, until finally it comes back to normal.
-When i walk sometimes i have a clicking in my head, which seems to click when i step.
The other night i lifted my head off my pillow after laying on my right side, with the right side of my head on the pillow. The instant i did i got a really loud ring and a feeling that my hearing had gone, about a minute later the ring subsided back to the quite hiss and my hearing came back.
While working the other day a piece of my filling fell out, and 2 of my teeth have felt really sore when i eat anything sweet. For about 3 years now i have had a problem with my jaw, it started when i bit into a piece of french baquette which caused my jaw to pop, what felt like, out of its socket.
But i never experienced any problems with my ears, although sometimes my jaw would feel very sore. Sometimes when i am eating i also hear my jaw clicking and a rushing of air sound in my ear.
Im hoping its got something to do with my jaw and have kidded myself now for weeks that it has and i will get back to normal, but to be honest, at the moment i feel that i will be suffering like this for the rest of my life, and dont know wether i will be able to put up with it for much longer. To hide my problem i've also started drinking, not alot but just enough to make the world feel a bit better, i never used to drink before, and i know this could be a slippery slide down into depression. But i do now where earplugs whenever i go out or use my bike. So maybe i still have a bit of will power left in me yet.
Sorry to go on for so long but i really am hoping that someone in here has some answers or possible problems.
Thanks for your time in reading this, replies would be gratefully recieved as im at my wits end with worry.
Cheers.
