View Full Version : Confusion and forgetfulness

Does anyone else get this annoying symptom with their anxiety?

I can be in the middle of doing something really silly like dishing up the dinner and then for a split second I forget what I am doing or how to pick the food up. It is so fleeting when it happens and is over in seconds but it really upsets me and I start to think I am having the early stages of alzheimer's disease even though I know it is just my tired nerves and brain playing tricks on me. I have managed to conquer my panic attack symptoms, I wish I could so the same for my anxiety.

I have also noticed it only happens when I am tired. When I am alert and full of energy it doesn't happen.

That's funny you should post this today. I've been going through the same thing the past few days. My panic attacks and most of my anxiety are under control, but the past few days I've had momentary forgetfulness. For example, it seems I'm always driving my kids somewhere and I'll be in the car heading down the road through the neighborhood and I'll have that "Where am I going again?" moment. It'll take me a second to go "Ok, my daughter is in the backseat, and it's 10:00 so that must mean we're going to swimming". It can be pretty freaky, because I used to remember EVERYTHING. I'm just chalking it up to another crazy symptom of anxiety/stress.

Just wanted you to know that you're not alone!
