View Full Version : I have Kidney Pain and can’t go to the doctor

I get kidney pains occasionally (have it now) and sometimes it hurts the kidney to go potty. I don't have medical insurance and my circumstances mandate that I don't make any medical bills. This would wipe us out and I can't do this to my husband.

My question is this: Can I go ahead and ignore this pain? It usually goes away and can be months before it comes back.

If you have some kind of an infection,be it bladder or kidney,if it is not treated properly with antibiotics,it will continue to get worse and much more painful, and WILL be much harder to get rid of once the symptoms get so bad that you end up having to seek treatment. You really do need to see a dr for this.whether or not you can actually afford it.If you seek treatment now, with just a primary dr,the financial impact wont be anywhere near as bad as it will if a possible infection is left to fester over a longer period of time. You could end up having to be hospitalized and on IV antibiotics. Now just how much will THAT cost? Most drs offices will accept payments and will spread out the financial impact over a longer period of time.Believe me when i tell you that even with good insurance, we are suffering in major medical debt right now as my son has major medical problems as well as myself.we owe just about every hospital in our metro area money for various hospitalizations(between myself and my son,we have had four extended stays in hospitals in just the last year alone for various reasons, and many many more over the past few years)but we still need ongoing treatments and monitoring of our conditions. You have to take your health very seriously if you don't,you will pay dearly for it later.the only way that you will be able to stay healthy is by getting these little things checked out when they come up.Spending a little money now for maintainance will save you tons later. The healthier you keep yourself, the less money it will cost you for your healthcare, trust me on that.please get this checked out if things continue. You will be thankful that it gets checked out anyway. It could be nothing or it could be something.Having the piece of mind of knowing either way will help you from constantly stressing about it,which i am sure you have been doing.i hope this helped, and good luck.

Thank you for your concern. The pain is already going away but I will keep your advice in mind.
