I have lived with dizzyness, unsteadyness, vertigo, vomiting often, headaches, tinitinitus, earaches, suddenly falling down for no reason, and all the insomnia, misery, depression and desperation that goes along with it for about 10 years now. Doctors would treat me for all those symptoms including surgery directly on both ears, the removal of the right mastoid and insertion of permanent tupes (PE tubes) in both ears. Drugs including meclizine, codiene, hydrocodone, antibiotics, nasal sprays of all discriptions and finally antidepressants. I lost my job as a computer consultant. I lost my home. And nothing worked.. I didn't die but I wanted to! Hello psychiatrist, Hello disability!

I think this site:
American Hearing Organization (http://www.american-hearing.org/name/perilymph_fistula.html)
may hold the answer for me. I will be seeing my ENT again next thrusday to begin to find out. I will post back with more info after.

Its just after having read so many similar posts from other sufferers, and how often the problems just keep coming no matter what the doctors do or tell us to do. When I found this info yesterday I knew I had to share it. Also there is a link from that page to another very similar problem that can have almost the same symptoms that also I have not seen discussed here. I hope it helps. If nothing else there are some great diagrams of the ear and inner structures there!

goodluck all!
