I don't think many people have had this type of surgery. At least I have not read about it on this board.
My questions would be-- how many has the surgeon done and what are the possible complications???

People I know live with the problem!!

My doctor said he won't do it anymore because it has not turned out to be effective. People still have to be on acid reducers and if it has any benefits, they don't last more than 10 years. Some people have trouble burping afterwards, althought the newer kind of wrap doesn't have that kind of problem though. I don't mean to scare you, but I believe I have even heard of shorter life spans with this surgery.

I would get a second, or even third opinion if I were you.
