Hey everyone..I'm new here (I usually post on a different board) and I have a few questions. I started taking Yasmin this month (currently on the last pill of the 2nd week). I am getting cramps, even though I shouldn't get my period for another 8 days. I used to take Ortho Tri Cyclen and didn't get cramps until a few days before my period (even though I was in horrrrible pain for that time, lol) Did anyone else notice an initial acne breakout while switching pills? Also, how effective is Yasmin at preventing pregnancy? I read in the pamphlet that if you're a "Sunday starter" you should't have sex during the first week of pills. Is that true for just the first pack of pills, or every pack? Thanks, I appreciate any feedback :)

I take Yasmin and have not had any problems with it. From what I understand they are very effective with preventing pregnancy if taken correctly. You are supposed to take them the same time everyday. For instance , I take mine at 8:00 every night. And the not having sex is just for the first pack of pills you take, not everytime I believe :)

its like 99.9% sure u wont get pregnant if you take it at the same time!! it isnt AS accurate when you miss a day every now and then... and you should try to take it within 3 hours of the time you take it at.

all bcps are supposed to be 99.9% accurate. the week thing is when you A) first start and B) during and one week after you go off of antibiotics like for a uti or something. if you take it at the same time every day and it's been over a week, go have fun!
