I was thinking about having some glamour shots done. Has anyone ever had them done before? If so, how did you like your pictures? My cousin had these done and they made her look so trashy! Thanks a lot! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

That's because many people do not know the difference between glamour and trashiness. Real glamour is not something one can attain for "pictures only".

I had glamour shots done when I was 18. They turned out ok, but when I left there, I felt like I had an extra 5 pounds on my face from all of the make-up. They let you pick your own settings and you decide what look you want.

I really do not use alot of make-up but when I looked at myself before the pics were taken --I gasped. They said to have them done and that you need alot of make up for them. Well what a shock when I got them back---they were beautiful. However my girlfriend had hers done and she is very fair skin and hers were terrible with all the makeup. So ---6 of one--half dozen of the other though. HUH????

How much do glamour shots usually run?

I didn't like mine. I did them about 11yrs ago & it didn't even look like me.
My mom paid around $200 for about 3 poses & 15 pictures!!
I had to take a shower and scrub the makeup off with a loofa, I was raw afterward!!!!
Depending on the studio, I'd say go for it, but some do make you appear trashy.
Do your research before spending the$$$$
Good luck

I would just go to a good photographer, but that could run you even more money.

Glamour Shots often runs specials. I've seen them advertising the actual photo shoot for free and then packages as low as $35.

I went to have them done once several years ago. It was an awful experience - I never even got to the "taking pictures" part because the person who was doing my hair/makeup obviously didn't know what she was doing. I ended up walking out (with a voucher for a free session & some free prints). I gave the vouchers to my sister and her photos turned out fabulous. But she used a different location.

I think it really depends on who you get and whether or not they know what they're doing.

But it's not true that makeup has to be caked on to show up properly in pictures. I had my makeup done for my wedding pictures by a professional. When he was done you could barely tell I had any on, but I look amazing in the pictures.

I still want to get them done. A girl I know told me I could do some type of special with her where its $20 for hair and makeup and you get 1 or 2 of the best pictures for free. Sounds good to me! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
