I started doing the MEP (Modified Epley Procedure) nearly 2 weeks ago. I have had BPPV and the ongoing after effects for over 3 years, with recurring bouts of violent spinning despite having 2 Epleys done by a physio. Doing VRT exercises, especially ones with quick head movements, tended to cause the severe vertigo to come back. Several people on this board recommended I try the MEP.
I'm not suffering the violent spinning at the moment so it's difficult to tell whether the MEP is having a major effect. Some days I feel a lot clearer than normal, but have had quite a few days when I feel quite "heady" and keep getting brief spins. Because I am at work during the day, I can only do the MEP before I go to work and then when I get home, I can't do one in the middle of the day which is probably the way it should be done. But as I said, I have had periods of feeling clearer so hopefully it's doing some good. I'm on a computer all day at work and with the visual problems I have, this tends to make me dizzy by the end of the day anyway so that makes it even harder to tell whether the MEP is working!
I'd be interested to hear how other people are going with the MEP.
