I have regularly took paracetamol overdose for years
so far i got away with it
2 weeks ago i took so many i needed the antidote and then i had an allergy to that
after i was discharged i took over 100 tablets in a week
now i'm beginning to worry about the physical effects
i was warned for years but now my body is starting to give in

i keep saying to myself am i yellow yet?

then somehow i found out a damaged liver can be shown by a symptom such as itching, which i've recently developed

have i got this wrong?, or may be a coincidence

just in case u were wondering it was a suicide attempt, but i got lots of support staff so don't worry on that score

just getting paranoid i've actually done it this time,

does anyone know about this itching, sorry if i sound silly, please help! :nono:

Yes, itching can be a symptom of liver trouble. It is from the toxins in your body. It is usually accompanied by jaundice. Go see a doctor and take care of your liver. Good luck to you.

yesturday i od on the paracetamol again and the itching then got worse so i took advice and went to hospital, the drug levels were ok but it was ages later, but the liver function had gone done quite a lot and i have to have a followup blood test next week, itching still there but not quite as bad as last night, which was what paniced me to get advise
thanks for your post, keep u posted
had dental surgery on tuesday so now i'm having trouble finding pain relief because obviously the paracetamol is useless and risky

3 weeks ago i overdosed on paracetamol. i was in hospital for a week. i was given Parvolex and IV antibiotics as well as a saline drip. i had a blood test every night so that my ALT levels could be checked. at my worse they reached 2890! (normal is between 7-40). i have a check up appointment tomorrow for a bloodtest. if my levels are still high does anyone know what the next step would be? also what would be seen as a dangerous level in which to have more treatment?

if you have any information please let me know,
thanks.
