Hey Girl.....you made it!!!! One full year :bouncing: I am so proud of you! I am trying to follow in your footsteps, you are my mentor :) That is a huge knotch on your belt, just incredible!
We are getting ready for another hurricane.....Jeanne. Looks like Florida is going to take a hit after all. I may regret this decision but we've decided to stay and ride it out. I have a petsitting job going right now and my client has offered for us to stay there. It is a new home and should hold up ok. It's already been through the other two hurricanes, of course. If you are watching the news when it hits, we are in the upper left corner (west) in Osceola county. I can only pray that we don't get the east side of the storm, that's where all the tornados are. They are supposed to have a good idea tonite as to where it will hit. It's a pretty big storm so the effects will be widespread, something like Frances.

Thank you Cindy!! :) You are so sweet to remember! Yes, I am so happy about reaching this milestone. (It's actually the 24th, at noon exactly!) I did have a couple of little relapses, but I still made it to the 1 year point, and I am SO glad that I'm here, smoke free and getting healthier! I do feel healthier now as well. I eat right these days, and I'm now walking 3 to 4 miles every week day! I can't believe I did it! I prayed a lot too, so he gets credit too! :angel: And whoever invented nic patches, well, I love ya!!! :nono:

Congrats from me too. :D One whole year smoke free. That is great! :bouncing: I am concerned about Jeanne too. I hope she breaks up so the she isn't strong enogh to do any damage. I also am concerned that it may hit south Ga. I have family there. Great work Deda. Phoebe

Thanks Phoebe! That's so nice of you! I kinda feel like it's a birthday today, sort of! :jester: How are you doing? I think I'll start a new "Stats" thread and see if some quitters can check in and let us all know how it's going for them. :)
I hope your family members won't have to deal with any of this hurricanes' effects. I have a daughter living in NC, but luckily she's a couple of hours from the coast! (but they do get some pretty bad rain storms there).

Hi Deda,
No, it wasn't as bad but we did get more damage. My car also got damaged from flying debris (carport material) so we do have another deductible to pay. It's been a very expensive year. The damage to our home was not enough to have to pay another deductible. I guess we were lucky although I hardly consider getting hit by 3 storms....lucky. All of us are tired and could really use some good therapy, lol We went to my dad's home in Tampa (Clearwater) expecting to get away from it but the storm followed us over there so we did end up riding it out. The season is not over by any means, they are making a point of telling us that on our local news channels.
So, for now, our home is still intact and we are not smoking. Our power was restored Monday and we are again waiting for our cable. What a life!

Oh Cindy, what crappy luck. You drive to your dad's to get away from it, and it follows you along the way! I am so glad that it's over, and you and your home are safe. Sorry about the damage to your car. What a horrible time you guys have been through over there, the past couple of months. Let's hope this will be the last of them, for at least a long while. I'm so happy to hear that you have stayed smoke free, you go Cindy, you are a strong lady! :nono: I would probably need a prescription of something to get me through all of that stress! I hope ya got your cable restored by now too. I'd go crazy without my cable, and especially my news programs.
I'm doing fine here. I continue to feel better and better as my thyroid meds are finally doing the job. I'm walking a lot, and about to go out the door for a quick walk, as I missed out today to go shopping with a girlfriend. I used to work with her, and she is a smoker. Well, she drove, so guess what? Yeah, she lit up at least 3 times! YUK!! She asked if it was okay with me, and of course, being her car, I wasn't going to say no. Well, it didn't make me desire a cig one bit, in fact, it made me rather naseous! I thought it stunk horribly! Yes, I think I have this habit licked! :jester: We went shopping in downtown Davis, where smoking is practically outlawed! You will get a "ticket" if you are caught smoking within so many feet of a building, so you hardly see anyone smoking around there. It was nice to be there today as a non smoker. I used to hate going there when I smoked! LOL!
I'll be leaving soon on a trip (with my dad) for a week. I'm driving down to S. CAL to pick him up, and then we're going to the Sierra's. I'll take along my L-top, but don't know if I'll get a chance to log on. Looking forward to getting away, and of course spending time with my dad. And then I'll be bringing him home with me, and he'll be here for a few weeks with us. Fortunately, he doesn't smoke any longer, but still does when he goes in the casinos. That will be okay though, as I hardly see him in there, and I try to stay away from the smokers while I am there. I feel like I'm still reeking of cigs since I returned home this afternoon. Never thought I'd be saying this, but smoking really does stink bad! Good for me, huh? LOL
