I have had every medical test in the book for my many symptoms and nothing comes back abnormal. Go figure!

One new, weird symptom is bowel/rectal pressure and achiness. What is this??? Anyone have this with their other symptoms?

I have experienced that symptom quite a few times. Not so much in the last year but when I first started experiencing all these new things about 3 years ago. It all started about age 39 for me and now I am almost 43. I just kinda connected the pressure to all the new anxieties and health issues I was having and was always tensed up and nervous about it. I did tell my doctor about this particular symptom and a pelvic ultrasound was done but nothing found. So, who knows. I have been doing so much better at handling peri since I found this board. It truly is a light when you feel in the dark.

Hi,

Yes I have had that too. Earlier this year when I was having some gastro-intestinal problems that were peri related. And there was a time that I had that feeling with none of the other intestinal problems too. I have to say that reading this , that two other people experienced this makes me feel better about it. I did bring it up to my doctor though. It did not persist and went as quickly as it came.

I feel as Roselane does...since finding this board I have been able to cope better with the many symptoms of perimenopause. It just helps to know one is not alone and the only one that feels this way!!

I have had this symptom too but only maybe twice over the past 3 years. It was very strange and immobilizing for a 20 minute time length. Scary too!

Thank you, ladies! On the one hand, it's nice to know you're not alone, but on the other, the feeling is so uncomfortable! It really has lasted weeks now, and I've had numerous ultrasounds and such. So, I guess it will disappear just as it came...like other weird stuff that's happening to me now.

I too have had some serious gastro intestinal irritation like IBS, pressure in the bowel area along with bladder irritation, not to mention IBS. The prozac helped alot with that, but still get occasionally, especially if my hot flashes are bad.

Thanks, Andrea. I still try to convince myself I'm not "dying." I sure hope the doctors have known what to test for, didn't miss anything and I'm just suffering like others from peri. Gee, I just felt some pelvic pain. What a predictable day!

Wow...I've had this twice during the past 4 years of perimeno-muck. The second time is now and it's driving me crazy. This time I am having other intestinal problems such as bloating, constipation and at the beginning, some 'runs'. It makes sitting somewhat uncomfortable and is a bit scary at times. I have tended to have quite a few vasomotor symptoms during this stage of life and contrary to most people that have had the typical menopausal symptoms, most of mine are weird and not so typical. I think my blood vessels contrict instead of dilate giving me cold flashes and a host of other strange vasomotor feelings. So I've been wondering if the pelvic muscles are constricting and causing all this.

Gee misery, in the sad way it does, loves company. Glad to know I'm not alone!!
