Has anyone had a discectomy (without replacement) in or around the Birmingham, Alabama area? My general dentist has not helped me and I need a good recommendation for a dentist that is familiar with treating patients who have no disk. I have lost all trust in my dentist and the "specialtist" that did my surgery, so I dare not take their advice. It has been almost one year since my surgery and I wish I had not had it done. I still have pain in my ear, neck, shoulder and jaw. Instead of "popping and snapping" like it used to do, my jaw now makes a grinding (like tissue on tissue) sound. My bite is off and I can no longer eat and chew like I used too. I don't know where to turn. Can someone please help?
