....someone gets you to faint by putting you in some sort of sleeper hold where they basically squeeze the arteries at the sides of ur neck after breathing deeply 10 times?
'Cause one of my friends did this to me. I didn't know what she was gonna do, she surprised me with it. I ended up fainting, and when I woke up, I was pretty pissed. I didn't know what she was gonna do, and now I'm a little scared wondering if theres any long term affects to this.

I wouldn't worry about it. Don't do it again, but don't worry about the one time. I think the risks of this kind of thing are mostly when it is actually being done. Worst-case scenario, the person squeezing the neck does it too hard or too long or in the wrong place and actually causes brain damage or death. And of course there is the risk of being injured while falling to the floor. But it seems that none of these things happened to you, so I wouldn't worry. Also, those are probably very extreme examples of what could happen and are probably very rare. I suppose if you did it often enough (especially if they squeeze the veins but not the arteries, so blood can get into the head but can't get out) it could put undue pressure on the arteries in the brain and if there was a weakness already there it could cause the vessel to rupture. So you're right... it's probably not the best activity to entertain yourself with on a nightly basis, but I wouldn't worry about the one time.

Hi there, we used to do this at school. There would be a group of us fooling around and I suppose it was just experimenting. As far as I know no-one suffered any ill effects but looking back, it scares me to think of the silly things we used to do. Anyway, I think as we only did it a few times, no harm was done. I am 52 now so it obviously did me no harm but with increased knowledge and responsibility I certainly would not try it again. I wouldn't worry about this isolated occurrence but I would advise you not to interfere with blood supply again.
