sounds like u have been on your feet constantly for yrs???I have worked on hard floors for yrs,and when i read your post it reminded me of the intense pain i felt in my foot in exactly the same location you were describing, just a few nites ago...that's the first time i have experienced that pain......most of the time i would feel pain in the arch of my foot,intermittently....or on tops of my feet, when on my feet,.for a long periods of time...but i haven't experienced your 'loss of balance'...then at other times one foot would ache constantly, and, call me nuts,it would seem to disappear when i would have a bad tooth pulled...that's when i seem to have the most foot pain...when something is going wrong with one of my teeth.....now,for the last few years, when the tops of my feet hurt upon getting up in a.m.it seems that wearing my tenny shoes instead of going barefoot, gives me some welcome relief

This is exactly what I experiencing!!! Right foot, same place and same exact way you describe it!
However the last couple of days its bothering me more. I went to the foot doc who looked at my xray (in May) and said she really didnt see anything and there were no significant arthritis in the foot. She basically told me my problem was: "pressure points". I told her I quit smoking and how I gained alot of weight but when I asked her if this had anything to do with it, she said no and even if I lost weight she said the pain would never go away. Im not so sure about this but then again my pain now seems to be also going into the inside right foot towards the arch side and to the heel just a little (but my pain still radiates on the top arch and outter side. Should I request an MRI?
Am anxious to find out how the two of you are??? This morning I felt like I almost lost my balance for the first time so now Im getting concerned.

Last November I suddenly had a sore foot with no known injury. It was not until three months and three doctors that I found the right podiatrist which diagnosed personeal tendonitis. While my foot was sore, there was a pronounced tender spot on the right side. He said it was a tought tendon to heal and would take several months, specific exercises, and continous antiinflamatory to cure it. And he was right. I am now off the antiinflamatory, doing progressive strengthening. So be sure to have the peroneal tendon checked.
