This has been bothering me for nearly two months. It goes away for a day or two but comes back with a vengeance; sometimes it bleeds. What the heck is it?

That happens to me sometimes...I always think that it is a pimple that goes bonkers. I agree that it hurts like heck and can sometimes bleed. But if you are really worried, go see a doctor. A little embarrassing, but then you'll know for sure.

Hi,
Where exactly is the sore? Have you been inhaling anything prior to the sore happening (such as nasal sprays, corticosteroids, etc)?
Sometimes air changes/heat/air conditioning can cause nasal sores not to heal.
Did you have a cold or flu during when you got the sore?
Have you gone to the doctor about it to have it tested (for fungal/bacterial/herpes)?
I have a dry area in my nose that has plagued me forever. It's not a coldsore that I know.....I've gone to specialists who say it's because the septum is deviated somewhat that the air I breathe in is constantly going over that area. It gets extra skin over it and I have to "peel" it off on occasion. It's not mucous.....it's skin -- very ticked off that picking my nose skin has become a ritual because it becomes loose when blowing my nose.
I found that using Vicks keeps that area moist and heals it well. I use it at night, and in the morning....it looks much better. I've tried all sorts of medications, none of which work (cortisone, fucidin, antifungal, zovirax....)
Probably best to see a doc to make sure it's nothing serious. Hopefully it won't last long for you.
