I've finally made the decision to go off of BCP's, and this is my last week of pills. I've heard so many bad experiences with people going off of them, and it makes me nervous. But I've only been on them for 11 months, so I'm hoping that just maybe any side effects will be minimal. I'm trying not to stress over it because I know this won't help, but my biggest fear is getting terrible acne. I've never had a problem with it before, but scared it's going to happen. Has anyone else beeen this worried about stopping bcp's? Or is it just me worrying too much? Oh, and by the way, planning on trying to get pregnant, that's my reason for stopping:)

When I got off the BCP about 8 mths ago. I got my period 2 weeks after my last one. Then my period was on time the next month, Skipped the next, Got it the next, Skipped the next, then I got back on Birth Control Couldn't take the pregnancy scares! So just remember that if your period dosn't come don't get too excited right away! and for the Acne? I had no problems at all. Good Luck!

I'm much happier off the pill (I'm on it periodically for health reasons). As for acne I believe erythromycin is safe whileTTC. You may want to ask your dermatologist if you end up breaking out.

Going off the pill was the best thing I ever did!!! It's almost a sense of freedom to not having any kinds of extra hormones in your body. I developed severe headaches while on the pill for two 1/2 years, and am now headache free. Also, your libido will skyrocket. It was great!
