I guess I will be the first to post on this site! I am 47 years old and have started to be more aware of my health in the last couple of years. I need to lose weight and am currently doing that. I have started exercising and trying to get those 10,000 steps in each day! I want to feel great as I enter my 50's and I know it is possible because I have seen so many people turn their health around even after that age. I know one of the most important things about a healthy lifestyle is attitude. If you have a postive attitude, it can carry you through a lot! I do have some minor health obstacles, but I am hoping to overcome them. They are: Allergies, Asthma, MVP. and a little higher than normal BP. I think losing the weight can correct them. Hopefully on this site, we can inform and encourage one another.

Sounds like a great board. Actually, I didn't see it here until today. I hope that it can be an up and coming board because it seems the way to go. So many drugs on the market and so many side effects to them. So many diets to try but which ones really work in the long run. Also, how does one start to exercise and keep with the program especially when we are older and some of the more vigorous exercise just doesn't work. How about sleep. How much do we need and what is the best way to get that need met. I hope that there are good suggestions that we all can use. I will check in here from now on ( now that I found it).

What is a good thing to do to clear up my allergies and asthma?

Losing body fat will help with asthma and studies have showed that certain vitamins will help with allergies. It all comes with a healthier lifestyle.

I'm glad to see this board here too. I never knew it exsisted. I hope it's a friendly board. I'm glad to see people really trying. "Kudos" to everyone here. I can always use a little peer motivation. You're right about attitude. I've lost my "exercise is fun time" attitude and need to get it back ASAP. :bouncing:
