lets say i have diabetes and i dont know it, if ive had it for so long and have not gotten the proper care can it cause partial siezures. kind of a dumb question but just trying to figure something out! thanks

Yes, and the only dumb question is one not asked. A seizure can result from blood sugar going too high or too low.

What exactly do you mean by "partial seizures"?

Aside from diabetes, you could have a form of epilepsy. If this is happening frequently, you should see your doctor.

I was under the impression (maybe wrongly) that if you have seizures from a low blood sugar then you would need assistance from another person, it's not something that you would 'come out of' with out some treatment, like glucagon.

And for a high blood sugar, if it were that high where you were having seizures then surely you'd be in ketoacidosis by now. No?

Linda... Yes, if your blood sugar is high enough to cause a seizure, you would require immediate attention. Seizures can also happen with low blood sugars but in both cases, they should be treated in a hospital
